Hand made ceramic vase with fermented soil glaze
A hand made ceramic vase from Patagonia. The glaze is made from mountain soil left to ferment for two to three months, a technique introduced by a Japanese ceramicist who travelled to the region in the 1970s. Its colour comes from the reaction between the metal substances in the glaze and the ambient air during firing, making each piece singular.
