Vintage Cotton Silk Oiled Tent Cloth Logger Jacket Olive
Crazy pattern logger jacket in oiled tent cloth
Based on a 1930s US Army CCC logger jacket. The original pattern has been updated with increased shoulder slope, a lower armhole and wider sleeves for better comfort and mobility. The yoke and chest pocket positions are lowered to improve overall balance, and the collar is revised for a cleaner, more stable roll. Constructed in a crazy pattern layout using four slightly different shades of olive tent cloth, each dyed with subtle tonal variations.
A high density tent cloth woven with alternating cotton silk blended yarns and cotton slub yarns, arranged one by one in both warp and weft. The natural irregularity of the yarns creates an aged, vintage texture. An oil coating gives the fabric a unique character that blends the qualities of cotton, silk and oil.
The garment undergoes additional processing beyond fabric finishing to achieve an authentic vintage tent cloth appearance. The treatment enhances the subtle oil slip feel within the fabric, and a product wash helps blend the characteristic surface chalk marks. Original iron tack buttons, which may darken or develop rust over time.
Each piece will vary in finish and colouration. The paraffin coating will gradually diminish with wear and washing. Strong chalk marks can be reduced using a steam hover pressing technique.
