Luke Derrick - Examination of classics and modernity
Luke Derrick is a London-based menswear designer and graduate of Central Saint Martins. Rooted in the city’s streets and everyday rituals, his work redefines tailoring through the lens of London life. Inspired by characters encountered on late-night journeys home to Spitalfields, he draws on Shoreditch street style, Savile Row refinement, and the ease of sportswear, while celebrating the influence of immigrant communities.
His debut AW24 collection introduced tailored tracksuits, oversized raglan coats, and side-piped trousers made for cycling to work. SS24 Raincheck expanded this vision with vivid colours and luxury sportswear, celebrating London’s cultural melting pot.
With experience at Brioni, Alexander McQueen, and Savile Row, Derrick’s fascination with archetypes extends to 1960s and 70s Italian car design, inspiring palettes from leather interiors and silhouettes from vintage luggage. In just a few seasons, he has established a language of clothing that is practical yet elegant, familiar yet new. His AW25 collection will launch exclusively at Opia.
