Bienvenue Sun
Zurich-based design studio Bienvenue Studios and the traditional family business Shinto from Osaka, Japan have once again partnered to create towels of the highest quality in new colors. Perfect for these months of travel and sun, vibrant yellow and subtle nude colors are available now as well.
This collaboration highlights the importance of preserving traditional techniques while embracing innovation and design. Over four generations, the craft of towel-making has been a part of Shinto's family, and their very own technique maintains thickness and high absorbency at the same time. The towels are made from 2.5 layer gauze fabric and are carefully woven on looms from the 19th century, which have been used since the family started their production.
To offer a product that is as sustainable as possible and fits the body size of Swiss customers, Bienvenue Studios and the manufacturer from southern Japan decided to launch their towels in size L and use organic cotton only for all of their editions. Thanks to its super-soft texture, the pieces are suitable for baby care, as well as for the beach, a picnic, sauna, and bathroom - to name just a few examples.
