Supima cotton grown in the USA, woven into ultra fine high density typewriter cloth by a family run mill in Hamamatsu. This fabric is a technical achievement by the mill's new generation, reaching 358 yarns per square inch and surpassing the previous industry benchmark of 340. With 160 yarns in the weft and 198 in the warp it's extremely difficult to produce and requires an older wooden shuttle loom chosen for its gentler handling. Supima is selected for its extra long staple fibres, fine, soft, and durable, essential for weaving at this level. The result is ultra lightweight and breathable, barely touches the skin, with a papery texture that rustles and crunches with movement. Despite how delicate it feels the density makes it supremely strong. Care for it right and it holds its shape through repeated wear.
