Emilio Alamino - Crystalline Ceramics
Emilio Alamino’s crystalline ceramics take a lot of time and several steps to be done. He works with an English and a Spanish porcelain. The process begins with wedging the porcelain. Then these particularly beautiful vases are thrown on the potter's wheel. They need to rest up to one week before they can be fired. After the bisque firing, the surface must be polished. Now comes the glaze firing. The glaze is specially formulated to form crystals. The glaze firing takes about 10 hours at a temperature of around 1100 degrees Celsius. After cooling, the base is polished with a diamond disc. We are happy to have some of these wonderful pieces in the store.
