We will count down the days until December 24 in style, with some of the most inspiring people we know. In the coming days, you will read some fun anecdotes, hear about favorite memories, get inspiring ideas for the holiday season and get great gift recommendations for your loved ones.

Founder of Opia

Are you a Christmas lover?
Yes, more and more the older I get...

Do you have any Christmas traditions?
For me, it starts on the 24th with a brunch at my sister or friends house in Graubünden where I grew up. For a few hours, we indulge in all sorts of delights and Champagne and talk about the year that is soon ending. While my husband or parents are taking care of the kids and decorating my parents' place.

Then off to the Christmas Eve dinner with kids at my parents' house and basically we start eating and for three days we don’t do much else…eat, take a walk, sleep, repeat.

What is your favorite food during the holidays?
Candied orange slices with dark chocolate

What is your most vivid childhood memory of Christmas?
I always loved to eat the meat for the «Fondue Chinoise» * raw when nobody was watching.

* hot pot, where meat and vegetables are cooked in a shared pot of broth, typically eaten by Swiss families during the Holiday season.

What is on your wish list this Holiday season/ Christmas?
Quality time with my family in the mountains.

What was your favorite Christmas present as a child?
A blush pink colored ski overall with white ribbons, a dream!

What gift did you want but never got?
Some very expensive facial products.

If you have to choose the perfect gift for your best friend / loved one from your own store, what would it be?
This Christmas I decided to give something to all of you and I hope that you will enjoy getting to know all those great people behind the products we curate and love at Opia.
