These mutated carp stood out and became very popular during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), because of their extremely bifurcated fancy tails and big bubbled eyes. A symbol of happiness and good fortune, this fragile and elegant beauty is always displayed and admired in indoor ponds or vessels instead of in the wild.
